? for those who have felt movement already

I'm curious where you felt your first movements.  I'm quite sure it's still too early and I'm not actually feeling baby yet.  But I felt an odd sensation today, right at my belly button.  I'm sure it isn't baby, but it made me wonder where I'd feel baby whenever it does happen.

Is the first movement low by the pubic bone, or mid-fat roll or belly button?  I'm curious.

TIA!

Re: ? for those who have felt movement already

  • I just started feeling the duo maybe about a week ago. It feels like butterflies. Baby A is lower, like mid pelvic where as Baby B is a little bit higher right under my belly button but to the side. I convinced myself it was gas for the first few days, but it was happening more frequently when I was laying on my back and quiet. Then when I went for a quick ultrasound Friday, I could see the motion from Baby A correspond with my flutter. It was sooo amazing. :)

  • AHHH!!!! That's so exciting! And so cool that you could see the baby and feel the baby at the same time! I'm really hoping I get to feel something sooner rather then later. I'm so excited for that!

  • I bet it will be sooner rather than later! :) You really question yourself for the first few days like "its totally gas, it couldnt be movement could it?" - and then once you realize what it is - its the best thing EVER. DH is slightly jealous because he cant feel it outside yet (he has awhile to wait for that!) but I love having that little moment of secret with me and whichever baby wants to say Hi.

  • I've been feeling little bubbles near my belly button and was wondering the same thing.

  • Right at the end of 15 weeks I began feeling the baby. It was down near the pelvis and actually felt like I had driven over a hill too fast and my stomach did a flip flop. Lately the movement has just felt like something squirming around.

  • Next time you go to the doctor, take note of where they do the doplar.  That will give you a good idea of where you will be feeling the baby.

If you can, feel around your belly to see where your uterus begins and ends, and that could help too.  You might not be able to do this yet.  I know my first pregnancy I couldn't really tell until I was a lot further along, but it's easier this time around.

  • I *think* I felt my first movement two days ago (ahh!) It didn't end in gas, and it wasn't a feeling I have felt yet. For me, it kind of felt like when my eye twitches (funny, I know, but that's what it reminds me of), and it was right around my navel but a little over to the left. I felt it once more last night, but nothing since.
  • I have felt the baby near my belly button on both the left and right sides.  S/he seem to move a bit throughout the day.

  • I have felt the zoom pops anywhere from pelvis to belly button.  With my son early movement was like driving down a hilly road, stomach flipping sensation.  In the past week or so I *think* I have felt a few pops, and they have kind of been mid/high fat roll- which makes sense with where we find the heartbeat

  • Today at church there was a little butt pushing out right under my belly button to the right. The baby must have been using it's legs to press outwards, because it felt like such a big pressure my eyes nearly popped out of my head! I felt it a week ago too, but I was driving and the seat belt was pressing against my belly. I thought that was why the pressure of the baby pressing out was so much, but maybe he/she's actually getting big enough to push out like that! I was standing up to go to the bathroom when I felt it. I think I'm really past the flutters now. Party!!! 18 wks this week!

  • I have just started feeling the "flutters". It was a little up and left of my belly button, and I wasn't even sure it was LO, so I started pushing around, and felt it again! This is my 2nd pregnancy, but it's been so long that I've forgotten what to expect!

You will feel shortly. It's so exciting!

  • I'm not positive, but I've been feeling a few spontaneous twitches near my lower left side. I can't wait to really feel the baby!

  • All early movements I've had with this one and my son have been lower. I think that the baby isnt up to your belly button area until about 20 weeks.

  • I have been feeling little flutters in between a butterfly and a goldfish swimming, right on my right pelvis area when I laid on my right side (never left) at night. Then this weekend I started getting actual *punches* half way between my pubic bone and belly button. The little punches were followed by some squirms that were cracking me up because it seemed that s/he knew I felt them and so they started shifting all the extremities. It kind of felt like some one poking me with their pinky from the inside..... if thats at all helpful
