question about formula feeding..

I have been breastfeeding but have to start supplementing with formula because my supply is tanking. I'm wondering if you make your bottles ahead of time when you are going somewhere or do you make the bottles right before LO eats? TIA

You can't make bottles early if it is powered formula.  You can however buy a container where you can portion out the amount of formula you want, then put water in the bottle and carry it around like that.  When your LO gets hungry you can combine the two and feed.  The ready to eat formula has to be refridgerated so unless you want to bring a cooler with you it has to be used within an hour.

There are also single use ready to eat formula that you can buy, they don't have to be refridgerated but they are usually pretty pricey for regular feedings.

I make a big batch of formula in the blender every day, that way the foam has time to settle down from being mixed and it mixes it well enough so I don't have to deal with the nipple clogging all the time like it was when I'd just shake a bottle up myself.   If I go out, it depends on how far off their next meal is.  Usually I bring a bottle in an insulated bottle holder with an ice pack that way it stays cool for a couple hours.   If I'm going to be out all day and need more than one bottle, I will bring a bottle of water with formula seperated in the formula containers.

I just make DD's bottles when it's time for her to eat. I take along bottles filled with water, and I have a powder formula dispenser thing. The only time when I actually bring a pre-made bottle is when I know that she's going to eat within the next hour, and I don't deal with taking little coolers around with me or anything like that. It's much easier for me just to take bottles and the powder.
