Outdoor Strolls

Is there a minimum age at which it is o.k. to take LO for outdoor walks in the stroller? Assuming the weather isn't too hot or cold, it is o.k. to do so at 36 weeks gestation?

We've been home for two weeks and have serious cabin fever!

Talk to your doctor, but as long as it isn't too hot or cold I would think it would be ok.  A head's up is that LO came home at 3 weeks past due date and could only handle short strollers. He got overstimulated VERY easily. Consider covering the infant seat with a blanket to shield from all the bright sunlight and I would keep walks fairly brief at first probably.

I took DS, who was a 35 weeker for a walk when he was a week old. They are so young that they just sleep most of the time. The plus was that the sun was good for DS jaundice.

DD came home at 38 weeks. I took her out the following day, and try to get her outside every day. If it's too hot, I wait until the sun goes down and then bundle her up a little more.
