Just an intro

I have posted here but I never introduced myself so I thought since I have time I would.  I am a stepmom to a 10 year old girl who is in 5th grade this year.  She lived with us all last year, and I pick her up every day after school (even when she is supposed to go to her mother's house) to make sure her homework gets done, help her with it, help her study for tests etc.  I also attend the open houses, parent teacher conferences, and all school related activities/functions etc.  Her mother hasn't attended an open house since second grade, and hasn't attended a parent teacher conference since atleast 1st.  We have her most of the time now, every other week and Tuesday -Wed during her mother's week, plus after school every day.  I used to be a teacher and hopefully will be again (maybe next year).  SD is no longer in elementary school but is in intermediate school so she changes classes and has two teachers - one for Language Arts/Social studies and one for Math/Science.
