If Your LO Doesn't Like The High Chair...

Where are you feeding them?

DS likes the rice cereal but does NOT like his high chair.  He's okay in it for the first few spoonfuls but then starts having a cow about being strapped in and confined.  I can tell it's the chair and not the cereal because he'll calm down when I offer him the spoon and eat fine but as soon as he's done swallowing he starts pushing against the restraints and whining.  Eventually, this kind of ruins the whole solids experience for both of us.  He's always hated being restrained in his carseat, too, if we aren't moving, and has never liked being strapped into anything, really.

Should I just feed him in his bouncy seat for now and save the high chair for later?  What do you suggest I do to make him more comfortable in the high chair?

Do you have the bumbo?  Sometimes we feed DD in it although she prefers the high chair.  She also didnt like the high chair until we leaned it back instead of having her sit straight up.  Not sure if yours has that capability though.

Oh we also dont strap her in.  It isnt really necessary in the one we have.
