so H is working his normal 24hr shift (wont be home til 7am) and i am home alone for the first time with LO. ahhh and my dumbas$ watched americas most wanted. STUPID. we are staying at my parents house and its HUGE - they are ALL on vacation so its just us for another 8 hours! i am so freaked out. have just about all the lights on, all the doors locked and DD and i are sleeping in the living room. i am so tired i could cry. DD has been sick all day so i havent even had a minute to eat! my head hurts so bad and i need someone to talk to before i lose it! i know ill be okay and tomorrow morning ill feel silly for staying up half the night. i hope H doesnt think ill be attending church in the morning because i have had a day from hell.
ok, whining is over. now someone tell me they have gone through this too! pleaseeee make me feel less crazy right now.
Re: who else has a DH that works nights?
hahaha, ok so im NOT the only one. thank god.
i just do not see how i could go to the bedroom to sleep. we have been sleeping in my parents room since they are gone (bigger bed haha) and its on the first floor, but im still freaked out.
i wanna go to bed SOOOO badly!
My DH works nights every now and then (his schedule rotates, he works in the ER) and it drives me crazy when he is gone all night.
One night I heard a noise near our front door and I called the police to come do a drive through our area :-)
You are not crazy and I feel your pain!
In my camera bag:
maybe i should pretend to hear a noise and have the police come watch my house! hahaha. i seriously have every light inside and out on! and its not like we live in a bad area or anything. i know deep down that i am perfectly okay. i really do not know why i watch AMW!
jealous. H is a paramedic but works in an area about 20min away. if i got super scared i could have the crew in my area stop by but i would feel stupid. if it was H then i would! haha
H works nights, we moved into a rather large home only months before DD was born so its a new space. DD sleeps in crib in her own room now so i am now wearing a path between my room and hers. we have a motion light on the garage and i can see it turn on from my bed and without fail i pop out of bed to look out the window to see what is going on. this has had its good moments since i now know that there are raccoons, dogs, cats, groundhogs running around my yard all night.
do not feel like you are a whiner it is normal and you are a mommy now. i think we will be checking the doors and looking out the windows for the next 18 years (at the least) . put on a happy movie and relax you will fall asleep in no time
