What do you call the spouse of your sibling-in-laws?
For example, my brother is getting married in January. What would you say my husband should call my brother's wife?
We had this conversation with a group of friends and there were two sides strongly supported. We both said that he'd call her his sister-in-law, but based on the fact that we're pretty close. Saying "my brother-in-law's wife" sounds pretty distant and cold.
Anyway, what say you?
Re: Random Poll/question- NBR
I know its not technically correct, but I call DH's sister's DH my brother-in-law.
Its just easier.
Yeah, see I thought that it was a given, but there were about 5 or 6 people last night arguing their teeth off. Of course, 3 of them were engineers, so their minds were exploding over the technicalities of it.
"You have no legal relationship to them, you can't call them an in-law!!"
What do you call your sister's husband then? "I call him Jason."
This.

This- Even though they aren't related through blood, they're related through marriage, so it seems ok to me...
