How long can a keep milk in bottle

If she has put the bottle in her mouth but then stops drinking (breastmilk) do I have to toss it or can it keep for a bit? I usually take it from the fridge and heat in warm water. Thx

  • You can keep it for a little while. Honestly, "bad" breastmilk is really obvious. If there's ever a question, just smell it. It will smell spoiled if it is bad.

You can also re-refrigerate unfinished milk and use it at the next feeding. I wouldn't really do that more than once, but my LC as well as several reputable sources (kellymom.com for one) have said this is fine. Once again, if you are unsure, smell the milk.
