what are good first solids? i want to make her food..i dont know if that makes a difference. i heard avacado..sweet potatoe. anything else? and do i start by giving it to her once in the morning only? any advice is appreciated! TIA
We started w/ homemade green bean purees--we skipped rice cereal/oatmeal cereal all together and just started green beans this week. I've always heard to start w/ green veggies b/c if you start w/ sweet things it may take them a while to warm up to green veggies...granted I think this is probably just another one of the old wives tales kind of things...but who knows, we had green beans for dinner so thats what DS started w/ :-) We will probably try maybe carrots next or peas...dunno
I started both of mine with a fruit, then alternated a veggie, a fruit, a veggie, a fruit, etc. I never had a problem getting them to eat greens. In fact my DD likes green beans over any of the fruits.
Our pedi recommended orange veggies first so we've done sweet potatoes and carrots. I just made some butternut squash today to try on Tuesday. The pedi also recommended once a day at night. We give him his veggies at about 630 pm.
