SO and I were talking last night about going vegetarian. There are lots of good reasons to do it and we're hoping to get our eating habits healthy and under control- and maybe lose a little weight. I was veggie in H.S., but haven't been since so I'm googling stuff today. ![]()
I'm excited but a little leery of having to hear the inevitable "are you going to raise your child vegetarian? Kids need meat.." blah blah blah.
Anyone already dealt with this already?
Also any good veggie tips or websites?
Re: going veggie
I have been a vegetarian for about 2 years and DH is mostly veg. We get those questions all the time. We tell people that we will raise our kids vegetarian and when they are older they can make their own decision. We also say that if our DD wants to try meat we will make it for her at home so it will be healthier. We also know it will be hard once she is in school and going to friends houses.
Good sites: vegdaily.com, goveg.com, vegetariantimes.com, vegweb.com
thanks for the websites!
And I guess those are close to the answers we'd give, but I guess I was hoping for something short and sweet...
And we'd be a little on the side of "flexitarian" and have meat rarely- preferably when it is local and/or organic.
