A good friend of mine is having a little girl. I asked had they thought of names and she said they are settled on a name already. When I asked what it was, I kind of thought I didn't hear right. When I asked again - nope I heard it right.
Their little girl is being named...are you ready for this?
Britta Cadence
ETA: I should note...all I can think about is the water filter.
Re: Did I hear that right?
NMS at all, but I actually know TWO britta's.
It's totally NMS either, but I do know a few people with the name.
One spells it Brita and the other is Britta.
I agree..I think of the water filter.
{Ava 5.16.06} {Ella 12.29.07} {Drew 2.9.10}
OP: I'm not making fun of your DDs name AT ALL, but yours is more uncommon. Brita, I believe, is ethnic of some sort.
No, just another way of spelling Brileigh/Bryleigh, we liked the "lee" ending better because its my own middle name.
"Brileigh" and "bryleigh" aren't very common though are they?
I don't dislike uncommon names, so I'm not saying anything negative (for the record)
you're such a know it all
sorry...couldn't help myself hehe
Brylee, however you spell it, is much more uncommon than Britta...at least around here! I've never even heard the name Brylee before.
I actually really like the name Britta.
haha.
OP: i'm really not trying to be nasty, I promise.
I know, IB.
I know a few Brileighs.
With Britta, all I can think of are the water filters. It's just NMS.
I think it sounds German or Austrian. Esp. if pronounced 'Bree-ta,' in which case it reminds me of Brigita in the Sound of Music.
vegan mama, military wife
it is, isnt it! when i read it, i totally thought of the water filter but i watched every episode of community without ever making that association.
I LOVE the middle name
I know of a few Brittas. I think it really is a lovely name. I think because I kind of know people with that name, I don't automatically think of the filter.
And, I will also agree that I think Britta is much more common than your DD's name. I have never heard her name or any variation before (not that there is anything wrong with that name either).
I know a Britta. Britta is a popular shortening in Sweden of the name Brigita and Brittas is a village in Ireland.
It was a name long before it was a filtration company.
