Cankles and Swelling...should I be worried?

Hello ladies,

So, last night my feet and ankles were swollen but my left one ballooned up like never before and was actually painful. Even propped up, it just hurt. I didn't twist it or anything.

I know that swelling is normal, but when should it be a concern?

My OB said if that you will have some degree of swelling in the 3rd trimester.  I am at risk for pre-ecamplsia so they monitor twice a week.  She said if the swelling goes down with elevation and extra fluids then it should not be a problem.  If it does not, to call ASAP.  If you are truly worried I would call.

In my last trimester, no amount of water or feet propping could take away the swelling. They say the swelling is normal, BUT if its "equal" swelling (meaning left and right legs and ankles are equal to eachother. They said to call doc if its just one rather than both.
