Do they come in whole milk or only 2%?

Is it the same same giving LO whole milk cold?

Do they really not have to be in the fridge?

Do they taste ok?

Were do you buy them? How much are they?

Thinking this would be good for trips Disney, Zoo playdates and just to have in cause we are out.

Do they taste ok? Yes. They are very yummy.

Were do you buy them? How much are they? They are at Kroger this week 10 for 10.

They don't come in whole milk. 

They don't have to be refrigerated but they do have expiration dates. 

DH keeps them at work for protein shakes so they must taste ok. 

I get them at Kroger and they have them for $1 a box--pricey for everyday use but totally worth it to me for travel and to keep in the diaper bag.  Walmart carries them too but I have a hard time finding the plain milk at mine, they usually just have the strawberry and chocolate.

The Horizon website has a place where you can sign up for coupons.

As a side note, I've posted this before on this board, but quite a few people that previously  used Horizon milk commented that they appreciated seeing these ratings/a description of Horizon.

These taste very strange. I don't know if it's the carton, but they do not taste like normal 2% milk. But, we tested them out to keep around for hurricane season. I know another brand makes the same product...maybe Earth's Best? Can't remember. But they are a fine product if you don't have a fridge.

DD doesn't drink cow milk, but we use the Pacific organic almond milk, which can also be bought in individual 8oz cartons.

Organic Valley also makes 8oz cartons, and I'd choose that over Horizon, as Horizon isn't known for treating their animals very well. 

Silk also makes soy milk cartons. 

Dairy that doesn't have to be refrigerated freaks me out.

Do they taste ok? Yes but I like Organic Vally WAY BETTER, and they have it Whole Milk, and 1% and 2% at Whole Foods, they have a 4 pack for like 5.99, and or a 12 or 18 pack for 9.99-13.99

Were do you buy them? BJ's has a 18 pack for under 17.99, Babies r us has them also but for more money, most stores have them. Taget has a three pack for 3.99 How much are they?

That is why we have them, I still like mine cold and will put mine over ice! However my kids like them just the way they come. Great for Disney, and Zoo and other parks:) Also great for storm Season!

However, we use Organic Vally, just tatses better.

Milk that is ultra pasturized doesn't require refridgeration because all of the bacteria has been killed. Once it is opened it does require refridgeration because you have now introduced bacteria.

 When we traveled to Costa Rica all the milk was ultra pasturized and you bought both milk and eggs off the shelf, not out of the cooler. I think this is the norm in many countries where refridgeration is expensive and not always available. 

We have used Organic Valley milk boxes while travelling and DS liked them just fine. They are very convenient for plane rides or long car rides etc. but I agree that they are too spendy for everyday use.

Also, I have never seen them in whole milk, but pedi says its fine for DS to have 2% sometimes instead. Not a big deal if its once in awhile.
