Cervical bleeding during exam

So at my 2nd appt today, I mentioned that I had brown spotting on Wednesday. I called the on-call doc and they said that it was most likely caused by sex and if I was worried I could come in and hear the heart beat on the doppler...which we did today. At the appt, the MW says that she'll take a look, if I'd like. So she said that my cervix bled just from the "duck lips" and eewwwww, she showed me!! That was unnecessary. Anyways, she said the something might have cause it, I can't remember the name, and that they won't treat it until I'm in my 2nd tri. 

Anyone else have this experience?

The Nurse practitioner that did my pelvic exam at my first appointment said that your cervix is really bloody during pregnancy, and that spotting after sex and exams was pretty common. I had a couple brown spots after the exam.

At my first appt I was overdue for a pap smear so I had to have one and I started bleeding as soon as doc started. She told me that some women are just very vascular and due to the increased blood flow in that area during pregnancy are prone to bleeding. This actually made me feel much better because I had been experiencing spotting before that and was worried it might be something serious. My situation might not be exactly what you are experiencing but the doc also gave me the impression that bleeding from outside of the uterus probably won't compromise the baby's health. Hope that helps a little!
