Horrible thing happened last night...
last night, we were all out on my block as we are most nights. We live on a private street so most people coming in and out are residents. Usually, when a car is pulling in/out we all start yelling CAR so all the kids know to move.
Well we were sitting there, a car starts backing out and we didn't yell car because all the kids were behind us in a driveway. All the sudden one of the boys, 4 yo and B come out, B was walking so I had a chance to put my hand infront but the boy ran, his mother and I just started frantically screaming but it was too late. The car didn't hear us, he didn't react, we didn't react the car's hit him. he was under the car but not under the tires and we were just screaming. Ugh all the kids saw it, his sister who is 6 saw it, B saw it. This poor little baby.
Thankfully, as of last night he had no serious injuries, all tests so far have come back fine. He may have a broken nose. Its really a miracle, the way this baby looked...its a miracle.
Anyway, please always, always be careful, it really takes a split second. We were right there!
Say a prayer for him and especially his mom. If I'm feeling this guilty about all the things I shoulda, coulda done...I can't imagine how she's feeling.

Don't beat yourself up about it. It has to be hard, though. I'm sorry!
That exact situation almost happened to me 3 months ago and I'm still upset about it. We always hang out on our street (similar to you, mostly just residents and low traffic) with all the neighborhood kids and yell CAR when a car is coming. Well a car was coming, we yelled CAR, and DD1 must have been posessed by demons because she shot out into the street right in front of the car. Thank GOD the car was going super slow and I don't think I ever moved so fast in my life, but she didn't get hit. But if the car had been going more than 5mph, it would have been bad.
I still get upset when I think about it.
I'm glad he's okay, I'm sure it was scary for everybody.
