So as I was taking my kids to school this week...I realized that when Baby Jack goes to Kindergarten, I am going to be the "old mom"! When my oldest started kindergarten, I was in my early 30's and felt pretty young and hip...when Jack starts kindergarten I am going to be in my 40's!!

Don't you know 40 is the new 30
I'll be 5 years behind ya!
At my daughter's old school I was the youngest mother there. The range was late 20's (me) to 50's. There was a mother there who went to school with my mother in the late 70's who had children my DD's age.
Hopefully I will get to be both. DH and I are just TTC with our first and I am 30 so I will be the older mom.
Right now with SD I look like the young mom at the high school. Well I should I was only 16 when she was born (DH is 5 years older then me).
I'm in the same boat-I'll be 41 when my youngest starts. That's not really old for around here-even at 36 I'm one of the younger moms in my older kids classes.
What really got me we were talking the other day about what grades my daughters would be in when DS started K. The oldest will be in middle school. That made me feel old!
I know! My oldest will be starting to drive when Baby Jack starts kindergarten!
I'll be 36 on Wed and he's starting K - does that make me an old one?
Let's see, doing the math, 39 when DD starts K - oh no! I'm old.
Seriously, though my stepmother was/is the old mom - she didn't have my halfsibs until she was in her late 30's (they're teens now). She doesn't look it though. Maybe having to keep up with the moms that were younger kept her young. She has mom friends that are much closer to my age (we're only 16 years apart).
Better to be the old mom than to look like you were in middle school when you got knocked up! I'm a stepmom to three kids, one of which will be starting high school this year. My husband had his kids young, and he is 13 years older than I am. Whenever someone makes a snarky comment I just say, "Oh to be 55 again... my plastic surgeon is really getting his money's worth with me!"
