I'm going to be hosting an 80s party in October! My BFF is turning 30, and we're going to throw her a party. I'm so excited! Of course, we'll have 80s music and dress in 80s, but I know you ladies ROCK with ideas, so I'd appreciate anything you have!!
Re: 80s Party!!
Slouch socks, side ponytail, high bangs, t-shirt tie, slap bracelets, high tops (pumps), mc hammer pants, umbros, neon colors.
That sounds like so much fun!!

The favors I made for DH's 30th were bags filled with retro candy. I got most of it from Dollar Tree and some from Party Fair. I ordered candy cigarettes online (which I have a whole carton leftover if you are interested) and since have noticed some at Five Below.
They were a HUGE hit.
I Love it!!! That's an awesome idea. I just googled it & found this site. Hope it helps=)

The music, the clothes and the hair are a given....for decorations, what about incorporating some of the cultural events that happened in the 80's for decorations?
Example:
Get some Regan/Mondale posters to hang
Get some copies of newspapers from the 80's (ebay) and hang them around
Posters of the 80's heartthrobs: Rob Lowe, etc
Decorations from movies: example: a toy E.T., star wars, top gun
For entertainment, do any of your friends have an old school nitendo? If so, hook it up to the TV and let people play.
Also, paint a Jenga set in gray and have a station set up where people can play Jenga/keep the berlin wall up
For favors, yo-yos or rubic cubes
If you know how to decorate a cake, you can make a "mt st helen" cake. Just stack circular cakes on top of each other (3 should do it), and cut the edges to that they slope up like a wide mountain. Cover it in chocolate icing, pipe in some "gray" icing, and then put red icing on top. Stick a litlle hiker dude on it.
October is a good month for the "dirty thirty" (speaking from someone who is turning 30 in Oct as well)
