TTC After a Loss

When to call dr??? Long cycles...

I am struggling on if or when I should call my ob to ask questions about my cycles.  I am on cd 50 right now.  My first cycle ttc was the 1st of January and I finally got a bfp on March 20th.  I've only  had one period since my miscarriage.  8 months...once pg cycle w/ miscarriage, one regular cycle and now I'm on this never ending one.  I'm starting to lose my patience.  Anyone have any suggestions???  What would you do in this situation?

  • You should for sure get an appointment soon. There are many options for getting you back on track.

  • I would call and let them know.  I think that they will probably say it's normal to have strange cycles for a few months after a loss.  But, it never hurts for your doctor to know and maybe they will help you!  Good luck.

  • The general rule is to wait 60 days before calling your doctor, but since you are charting and there clearly is no pattern, I'd say go ahead and call now.  They will probably require you to get a blood test and then give you Provera, which should jumpstart AF.  If this continues for another 3 months, I'd consider getting a referral to an RE, who can start testing to get to the bottom of things.  GL!

  • I would call. It sounds like you had long cycles before your m/c too, am I reading that right? If so, they can't be blamed on the m/c and hopefully they will start looking into things.

I was going to ask this too. Were they normal before the MC? If not there could be reasons for it having to do w/ the MC. I would call the Dr. and get in.
