Midwife

Is anyone thinking of going throught a midwife instead of their doctor ?

Re: Midwife

  • I would except that I'm taking no chances with my bicornuate uterus.

I am planning on becoming an CNM, so I feel like I should be using one, but I know I am higher-risk.

  • Yes. I decided when I was pregnant before and lost the baby. I met with the MW and she is fantastic. The perks to a MW are, she is there for you throughout the labor instead of a doctor who just comes in at the end to catch. She is cheaper. She knows what she is doing because that is her specialty. She still delivers in the hospital. The doctor is available for any complications. I love love love the idea of a MW and will absolutely use one instead of an MD unless they discover I'm high risk. Which I don't forsee happening.

  • I want to use a midwife. The midwifery group I made an appointment with is affiliated with an OB/GYN office and the hospital I plan to use.
  • If all goes as planned, we're planning a home birth with a midwife.
  • we are also hoping for a home birth with a midwife.  i currently see an ND rather than an MD and i'm not interested in an OB or hospital experience.

  • Yes!!

I had a doctor the first time and wasn't happy with the whole experience. Hoping for a more positive and relaxed labor and delivery this time.
