I am potty train, my friends 18 month old. We started a few months ago and she is getting better ever week. Once she goes in the potty she gets a choice between pink pullups or underwear. (but this is only if we are home) I will not have a child be in the carseat as you can never get the smell out:( I love to find some organic pullups or something better for planet earth. Canot wait to see what others post:)
Pull ups are one of those 'never say never' things for me. I don't like them on theory b/c I feel like they're basically just diapers that your child can pull up and down, but when in the thick of potty training who the heck knows what I'll try. I will start out with cotton training pants and will try to stick to my guns. But we'll see.
We only used pullups at night (he's been waking up totally dry since about 1 week into potty training).
Pullups are diapers and kids figure that out quickly. We didnt even use cotton training pants, just regular underwear. It works better that way because if there is an accident, they feel it and notice it right away.
Plus, when kids are really ready for p/t, it really doesnt take long at all anyway so putting them in pullups would only confuse them and prolong the process.
DD is nowhere near ready for this yet, but I don't plan on using pull ups (of course, never say never when you're a mom!). I feel like they aren't really any different than regular diapers and won't really help with the process of potty training.
I'd consider using them at night, but I can also see just using a regular diaper too (since I'd want DD to wake me up in the beginning anyway if she got up to use the bathroom)
