The only Taylor I know is my cousin, he is a boy. However, I do think of it as more of a girl's name. I feel like this one has been more or less taken over, however I have not done any research into it.
It's an occupaitional name - a surname that denoted a tailor - so I see it for either because of this. However, I think it was originally a boy. Taylor Swift's parents didn't do us any favors, but then this unisex name has girl roots that go back to the 1900s - Taylor Caldwell.
I prefer it on a boy. I'd probably avoid it since it's also used on girls. I do like occupational first names on boys such as Cooper, Parker, Gage, Tanner, Dean, Cohen, Archer, Baxter, Dexter, Miller, Mason...
I know both boys and girls named Taylor (I dated one in college and he was hot), I think it is fairly unisex. But I personally would never name my boy something that a girl in his class could be named too. But I would not think it was weird if I met a boy named Taylor.

This is what I am worried about, but DH says who cares?! Which surprises me

The reason I have such strong feelings about it is my H's first name is "unisex" although more girly in present day and he hates it so much that he goes by his middle name. So I wouldn't do it because of his experience, but I can see why others have no problem with it.
It used to be a boy's name, but it's definitely swung to a girl's name. Especially with the popularity of Taylor Swift, I would be worried about people thinking I used that as inspiration (assuming I didn't).
I think once a name starts to tip into girl territory, it is hard to go back to being known as a boy's name.
My hubby has a name that was pretty trendy for boys at one time, but is now 100% girl and he hates it! He has to put his middle name on everything since ppl assume he's a woman! We were considering Cameron for our girl and he nixed it because he didn't want her to live through what he has!

I think its one of those names that really can go either way. I prefer it for a boy.
