buying a Mattress Questions (original mattress factory)

I am in the market for a new mattress , I had asked questions about this a while ago, but we are going to be buying this over laborday

Orginally I was going to get a pillowtop, but now I hear they will sag so it is better to get a regular and get a mattress pad... Opinions on this?

Many of you said you bought from Original Mattress Factory and were happy... did you get a pillowtop or regular?

Also if you did buy from OMF were you able to bargain on the price at all?

Thanks!

  • I have 2 beds from OMF, one is my king and one is a twin. We did not get pillow tops because we had a Serta no flip one before and it got a hump in the middle.

We did a ton of research and we went with the Orthopedic Luxury Firm one, I am pretty sure and it is not a pillow top. I would suggest going to the factory if there is one by you. Our twin is the Regency firm model. We love both of them and plan to buy from them from now on. I am pretty sure ALL of their models are flippable. They even send you email reminders when it is time to flip. We didn't haggle the price because we found them to be reasonable.

  • We have two mattresses from them and didn't bargain because the prices were so reasonable. ?Our queen mattress is pillow top from their top of the line (both sides-so flippable) and we don't really have a problem but do notice when we flip it, it makes a difference. ?Our other mattress is a full in our spare bedroom and it's their lowest "category" but I think still pillow top or the softest out of the lower price bracket. ?The others were just too firm. ?(if you go to the one on glenwood, the lowest price bracket are located along the back wall...I can't remember the names of each of them.)

  • We got our bed from OMF, and DH's family has gotten all of their mattresses there for years. We were very happy with the service, and we have been happy with our mattress. Ours is not a pillow top.

They did explain to us that we should be wary of any "no flip" mattresses, because the nature of a mattress makes it necessary to distribute wear on both sides. Not being able to flip it would make it wear out faster. We didn't haggle, but didn't really feel the need to because the price was good. I do want to say they threw in a free bed frame (maybe this is standard).

We will definitely shop with them again.
