We went when DD#1 was about 4 & DD#2 was around a year & a half. We all had a great time. They had a great kiddie pool area that we spent most of our time in since they were so little at the time- esp. DD#2. What I liked the most was that we went in the winter & it was like 80 degrees in there, so you could comfortably walk around in your bathing suit. Rooms were decent. All in all, good times.
We went when DS was a little over 2 and DD was about 7 mos....not that great with those ages. Someone was 'tied' to DD, and DS had to ride with someone on the bigger slides, so we couldn't enjoy it as much as if the kids were, say, 4 & 6. We'll go back, but not for another 3-4 years. They do have great kiddie areas/slides, and it was overall fun, just restrictive.
We've been several times to the one in Grapevine, TX. DS loves it there. The only tip I have is to bring a few of your own towels. They have towels in the waterpark, but they have to stay there and the hallways going back to the rooms are pretty cold.

I have no experience with Great Wolf Lodge, but am a pro when it comes to Cedar Point. We have taken DD twice this year! She has a blast.
You must not leave without getting a funnel cake and then happy friar fries over by the Gemini. It's a must!
