C-section Moms-sharp, searing pain

It's day 9 post c-section and I'm in more pain than ever.  It has nothing to do with the incision.  It's mostly near the belly button and is this sharp, searing pain like being cut with a knife that runs vertical.  It's brought me to tears.  I can barely get up and if I do I'm doubled over because it's worse if I stand up straight.  I have a call into my OB but if it's anything like the pregnancy she'll be nonchallant about this too.  I just feel like something is wrong that I'm getting worse not better.  I checked and have a temp of 99.4...low grade but I actually run a lower temp.  Any ideas?

  • I don't think that is normal at all.  When is your follow up visit?  If your OB doesn't take you seriously I would go to urgent care or the ER.  Better safe than sorry.

I agree with this... I never felt anything like that with my c-section.

  • I would call. I was in quite a bit of pain after I went home because I was on stairs more than I should have been. My OB explained to me that the internal incision was much larger than the one that I could see. But I would still call.

  • This is definately not normal.  If your OB seems non-chalant about this, please consider getting checked by your PCP or going to an urgent care center to be checked.
