I totally blocked this out, lol. I should had added Lizzy Belle to my list. That was my mother's birth name and she was supposedly named after her great grandmother. She told me when she was in about the 4th grade, her school teacher changed her name and started calling her Elizabeth. My mom went home told her parents and they were fine with it. Which blew my mind. Anyway, many, many years later when we were looking up our family tree we discovered that her great grandmother's name wasn't Lizzy Belle, it was Isabel. So I'm guessing maybe Lizzy Belle was a nn? Anyway, so that's kind of a crazy naming story from my family. lol.
I was reading all of these and thinking "wow people really have some unique names to share. I don't think I have any to share". Then it dawned on me that my name, my mother's and my grandmother's name is Beryl (like Pearl with a . haha I have always gone by Beth (middle name is Elizabeth), but my mom and grandma go by Beryl.
my mom's family has some real winners- these come from probably 100 years ago: Blanks and Baudy (brothers)- apparently their mother was always a little wacky!!
