This is going to sound a bit odd, but my soon to be husband and I are trying to get pregnant while still using condoms.. Let me explain real quick why we still use condoms.. I contracted genital herpes, and he does not have them, so we are trying to limit the chances of him getting them, and we'd like to get pregnant even while using condoms. I know that we could poke holes in the tip and that would help, but I was wondering if that's the only way.
Thank you for helping
Re: How to get pregnant while using a condom..
I don't have much advice, but I wish you the best of luck. This would be something I would certainly discuss with his/your doctor.
I would make sure that you are using a condom that has a spericide or any lube on it, since those can create hostile enviroments for sperm.

Hmmm...perhaps ask your dr what the best way is if you want to try on your own or with help.
good luck!

I agree - talk to your doctor. Not only for suggestions in getting pregnant safely, but also to discuss having a safe pregnancy and delivery. I've read it is possible to pass an infection on to the baby during birth if you're having an outbreak, and there may be other risks you'd want to address with your doctor beforehand.
Good luck!!
As previous posters have said, I think this is best discussed with your doctor. But I'm pretty sure that if your condition is under control (ie. you're not having an outbreak), you should be able to have sex without affecting your partner. But once again, make an appt with your doctor. GH also has implications for childbirth that you should be aware of.
I had a former coworker who had this (& gave me TMI on this). Basically, she had to had a c-section because she was in the middle of an outbreak. I would talk to your doctor & make sure you are on the right meds to prevent an outbreak & make sure you are aware of the risk before you TTC. I am pretty sure from what coworker told me you are at an increased risk of a c-section delivery (so you don't pass it to the baby). As far as other risks I am not so sure. Talk to you dr.
