Opinions please....

We have decided on a first name for LO, but I am having a hard time making up my mind on the middle name. 

My choices are (last name is short/italian, ending in an -a)

 Gabriella McKenna

 Gabriella Ann

 (both after my grandmother...her middle and last name)

Also...do you like the nn Ella?

Definitely Gabriella Ann! I don't really like the name McKenna. Even besides that though, it is sooo many syllables together with Gabriella, so I prefer the flow of Gabriella Ann.

I don't mind the nn Ella (or Gabby), but I would just wait and see what happens. I wouldn't plan a nickname for her. I think the full name Gabriella is really pretty and would just see what comes naturally.

Gabriella Ann. Years ago I loved the name Ella, but it's popularity and it being used as a nn for so many names now has ruined it for me.

If your last name ends in 'a,' you really shouldn't do Gabriella McKenna LN-a. Even Gabriella ---a could be a risky choice, depending on where the stress falls in your last name.

 Gabriella Ann is lovely.

I vote for Ann also... not a fan of McKenna... sorry. I also vote nn Gabby over Ella... GL!

I think that it is cute, and I like the NN.  I do prefer Gabriella McKenna better though.

I'd go with Ann myself. With both Gabriella and McKenna ending in an "a" it sounds too repetitive to me. Plus McKenna's just NMS.
