I am so upset but trying to remain positive. I am on the way home from work talking to DH about my great beta number and I feel a gush. I get home to bright red bleeding and a decent amount. I go to the bathroom and pass a nickel size blood clot. The bleeding has gone down to spotting in the last hour and I have been laying in bed and drinking water. I am just so worried that it is over. DH was a couple of hours away on his way home so he will hopefully be home soon. Anyone had bleeding, not just spotting, and end up with a healthy pregnancy? I could really use some stories with good outcomes right now.
I am going to call my RE's office in the morning, but not sure what they really can do. I don't even know if they would let me come in for an u/s tomorrow or not. I am just so worried.
Re: bright red bleeding :(
((hugs)) I haven't had any bleeding but wanted to give you support. There are a lot of women on this board that have had bleeding and are pregnant with healthy babies. I would call your RE now. They may want to see you first thing in the morning.

Living After Losing
Thanks. I called when I got home and the office has just closed. Only thing I could do then was page the dr on call, but I know they wouldn't want to see me tonight so I figured I might as well wait until tomorrow morning and call. They are pretty good about getting patients in last min.
After two losses, third time was a charm.

I hope everything is OK. I out of the blue had a similar episode at 8 weeks. Scared the bejeezus out of me. It was a really tiny SCH, but boy can they bleed. I am now 30 weeks, so everything can be fine. Best to let your RE check it out, otherwise you will just worry. In the meantime, rest, drink water and try and stay as chill as possible. The good news is it appears to be stopping, not getting worse.
My RE told me also, "The placenta is a really dumb organ, it just invades and hits blood supplies along the way, which can cause sudden harmless but alarming episodes of bleeding."
Good Luck!
It is scary and it is hard not to let your mind go crazy, but try to let it not. I had red bleeding at 6w2d/6w3d, like I was starting my period, and I went in for an u/s and everything was perfect. I had another major episode last Wednesday (7w), where I passed clots and the toilet water was definitely dark pink. They brought me in for an emergency u/s and everything was perfect again.
I do not have a SCH, my RE thinks my bleeding is a result of all the extra blood that I have flowing down there... I hope he is right.
I have my next u/s on Thursday, and I had some bright red bleeding again yesterday, but only for about an hour, and then it tapered back to brown.
I also posted about this earlier this morning... it can really start messing with your head and thoughts if you spend too much time googling, so I would advise against it
Just drink a lot of water tonight, get into bed now, and call your RE in the morning to let them know.
Hang in there
Oh geez - I am so sorry hon. That must have been really scary. I have had spotting a few times during this pregnancy. The heaviest spotting was right at beta time (4 weeks). It was just like AF was on the way.
I have heard tons of ladies on this board say that they have had bleeding early in pregnancy and had good outcomes. They say that bleeding is pretty common from IVF pregnancies.
Whether or not they will do an u/s really depends on how far along you are. Sometimes it can be more stressful to do an u/s too early - before you can really see anything. But I would call the RE's office about it and see what they say.
Try to focus on your great betas! Hang in there!
Unexplained Infertility

TTC #2
After months of being postponed or cancelled, FET #1.3 (Natural FET) brought us twin girls!
I have been gushing blood every 2 weeks since my BFP. It feels like it pools above my cervix and then BAM...RED blood with clots gushing out. I'm 11.3 weeks today and everything looked great. I hate this SCH and I can't wait for it to go away.
Let me know if you have any questions..
(((BIG HUGS))) I hope everything is okay with you and your baby(ies).

I had an episode of bleeding with clots at 6w2d. We were at an outdoor concert and I ran to the bathroom before the concert and lost it. We ended up leaving before the concert even started. I called the on-call number and spoke with a nurse who told me there are plenty of reasons that I could be bleeding and the baby still be ok. I went in the next morning for an u/s expecting the worst, (the bleeding had turned to brown) and they turned the screen to us and we could see the heartbeat and a small section of fluid around the baby, which probably caused the bleeding. I had a few more episodes of brown spotting that lasted about a week.By our next appt (4 days later), the small section of fluid was totally gone.
I'll be keeping you in my thoughts

I had fairly bad bleeding at 6w5d. It ended up being a SCH which I later found out are fairly common especially for those who used fertility meds and IVF.
Don't lose hope, your beta was awesome!
I had bright red bleeding on the day of my second beta. Everything was fine. I expected them to call me with a negative pregnancy test and it was ok.
You are doing the right thing. Keep your feet up...drink water......the RE's office told me there was nothing I could do. Are you doing progesterone supplements? Don't stop them, even if you think its over!
I had similar bleeding at 6 weeks and then again at 12 weeks. The first time was a SCH and the second time was "unexplained". The babies were fine both times.
Definitely call your RE and they will likely bring you in for an ultrasound. How far along are you now?
