How do you know if bm went bad in the freezer?

This morning when I opened the freezer a lot of what was in there looked icy.  I think my husband had put too much stuff in there and it blocked something.  I am now freaking out that all of my bm stash has freezer burn.  I defrosted a few bags to smell and taste them in comparison with some milk I just pumped.  They definitely smell and taste a little different but I am not sure if that is normal because I have never compared before.  Would my son not eat it if it had gone bad?  I would really hate to throw all of it away if it hasn't actually gone bad.

freezed BM is going to smell and taste different than fresh BM. Does it smell sour? Bad BM should smell very similar to bad cow's milk so if it doesn't smell bad I say it's probably ok.
