Maternity clothes - Target, Walmart or Kohls?

I'm now down to one pair of pants that I can actually button and the bella band isn't comfortable anymore.  I'm going to make a run during lunch but the stores around me are limited to WalMart, Target & Kohls.  Which one has the best in-store selections at reasonable prices?

  • I love kohls because they always have sales (this week I believe 50-60% off) and you can use a coupon too.

  • I have found target is good.  Also check if your local Old Navy has a maternity section, they are priced well!  GL

  • I don't shop at WalMart for anything but gardening stuff, but I have found good deals at both Kohls and Target....granted with Kohls I had a $10 off coupon I got in the mail...but even without it I would of saved 35 dollars.

  • None of them have a good selection. They all have maybe 4 racks of clothes in them. In fact I'm not sure Wal-Mart has any.

I have been the most happy with clothes from Target. THey seem better made and are more comfortable. If you see something buy it. It won't be there next time.

  • I haven't tried Walmart or Kohls so I can't give you an opinion on those two, but I really love the Liz Lange maternity pants at Target. They're VERY reasonable, and sooo comfortable. I'm actually wearing my Target black maternity pants right now.

  • i can't find anything at walmart near us, but kohls usually has really great sales (and if you go online you'll probably find coupons) and my mom said that target has a lot on clearance as of last week/2 weeks ago. old navy has some good stuff online, and when i'm desperate i'll go to motherhood maternity but they're a little pricey.
  • Target has better deals than Kohls even on sale.  There is no way I am paying $32 for a shirt on sale at Kohls!!

  • I haven't bought or looked at Walmart... Target has occasional finds at semi-reasonable prices. Kohls here is cheap enough, but the maternity line is U-G-L-Y and it ain't got no alibi!

Sorry, I'm trying to wake myself up.

  • If your wal-mart has been through a remodel, they don't carry Maternity Clothes in store any longer. All stores are supposed to be remolded  by the end of the year so there are only a few with the Maternity clothes any more.

I have been unhappy with the selection at Target it seems to be picked over.

I ended up  ordering off line b/c i couldn't find anything in store... GL

Probably Target or Kohl's since you are limited to going to a store.

All of mine have come from garage sales. Generally if they have baby stuff, there will be maternity clothes as well. Much cheaper.

This. My MIL goes to garage sales every weekend and finds all the good stuff for me because I don't have the patience to do it. haha

But I'd choose Target over Kohls. And Wal-Mart is the devil. ; )

  • Neither?! LOL

They all have the teeniest departments & I swear they get smaller everytime I go in!  My walmart doesn't even SELL maternity anymore!

I just got 4 pairs of jeans on major clearance at the Gap Maternity for about $80 all together.  I love them, they are so comfortable.  I used to be a major advocate for the secret fill belly at motherhood, but these are 10x better LOL.

I am trying to make due with the shirts I have for right now with just wearing a tank top underneath a shirt that rides up, b/c with the cooler weather coming I am going to need shirts for that, so I really haven't bought anything in the way of that.

I bought a hoodie & sweater from OldNavy.com a few weeks ago too.

  • I have had the most success at Kohl's. I was just there this weekend b/c my early summer maternity shorts were getting too snug and I totally scored on their clearance rack. I got 2 pairs of shorts, 2 shirts and a denim skirt for $60...plus I got $10 in Kohl's Cash. I never have any luck at Target. I only have one pair of capris from them and they were hand me downs.

  • I found that Target had the best price/quality in regards to basic black work pants. Other then that I bought a couple maternity jeans at the Gap and thats it. I have been living in regular leggings and flowy shirts from pre-pregnancy.
  • I love my maternity pants from Target.  Maybe it's mostly bloat right now, but damn if I could get a regular pair of pants zipped up!

  • Check out burlington coat factory. They have a ton of stuff (just a little online) and such great prices. I got 2 pairs of pants and 5 shirts this weekend for $60. Also if you have Ross (like a tj maxx type store) they have little selection but good deals

  • I haven't been able to find any maternity clothes at Kohl's but Target always has something cute.  Wal-mart i have never tried.  Old navy and Ann Taylor Loft have cute maternity wear.
  • I had good luck finding clothes at Kohl's.  I found a pair of maternity shorts for $6 and the shirts I bought were from $6 to $15.  I haven't checked out Target's maternity section yet, and I refuse to shop at Wal-Mart.

  • Most of my maternity clothes are from Kohl's. Our WM doesn't carry maternity in-store, and Target seems to be pretty sucky for me... I use my Kohl's card and whatever coupons I have and tend to get some pretty great deals there.

  • I've had great luck with Kohl's. They actually carry clothes from Motherhood Maternity. Maybe it's just the one near me that has a big selection, but they've always had a pretty sizable section to look through.

  • I think Kohls has the best selection.  I've never seen them at Walmart. Target has some, but I think you will be able to find a bigger selection of pants at kohls. They carry the Motherhood brand, and it is usually marked down... I was just there and I think their pants might have been 30 or 40% off.

Totally agree!! Kohls maternity section (near me, anyway) was terrible!! Hit or miss at Target, but at least when they do have finds they're somewhat stylish!

  • I've had good luck with Kohls.

  • I found a couple of shirts at Kohls, but most of my maternity wear came from the clearance racks at JCPenney.  Shirts, jeans, jacket....for $10 or less.
