Are you putting first and last name, or just first, just last? I'm getting ready to order labels and the discussion awhile back about names on backpacks just got me thinking.
My kids have a very common last name where we live so I absolutely have to put first and last. Granted no other kids have their same first name but everything is requested to have first and last.
I did both name because most of the things I have been labeling are things that would be in her class and would remain in her class. Like the other day I sent a towel for her to cover herself during naptime.
I used just last name so I could use them for both kids. And glad I did because I don't use as many as I thought, and the one pack I purchased (for plastic and one for clothes) is still half full.
I started out putting first and last, but then realized there's a chance E might someday use the same things K uses, so now I just put our last name on stuff.
Each kid has mabel's labels with first and last name. My kids are at same daycare but in different room. They often use lunch dishes interchangeably and the teachers don't mind if ds2 has a dish with ds1 name since they recognize the last name.
