I was just at IKEA this afternoon, and was taking a look at some of their toddler bed options. The extendable beds caught my eye and I'm wondering if anyone has purchased one for their toddler.

DH would rather get DS a twin bed/rails and skip right over the toddler bed, but I worry about a twin bed being so far off the ground. On the other hand, I worry that the IKEA bed will look strange (being so close to the ground) once she gets older. Thoughts?
Thanks ladies!

Re: Anyone use an IKEA extendable bed for their toddler?
Another quick question for you -- you mentioned the built in rails on the smaller settings. I may be looking too much into the wording of that sentence, but does that mean you can't have the rails on the bed (for decorative purposes) when the bed is extended? I don't see why you couldn't, but I figured I'd ask the one with the bed!
Also, what type of sheets/bedding do you use for the bed? None of the IKEA options really caught my eye. I'm assuming a twin set tucked in?
I'm glad to hear it's working out well for you! Someone in my area has the white bed/mattress for sale and it's a pretty good savings, so I'm trying to make up my mind rather quickly! Any other insight would be great. Thanks for the guidance!

We also have this bed for DD2, although she is not sleeping in it yet. It is set up in her room and she will lay on it for a while and she likes just to climb onto it.
I think what Brit&Nate means about the rails is that when its on the smallest setting the 2 rails are close together and would keep you LO from falling out. You don't take them off as far as I know.
I'm not sure about the bedding. We bought the white sheets and comforter from idea and the comforter slipcover. I'm not sure if a regular twin sheet would work because the mattress seems to be a little wider than a normal twin. I'm curious to know this as well.
