Hmmm...I may have to try that! I've been hesitant to give DS any table food cause I am super afraid of choking, but he's 7.5 mo now, so a bit of jello might just be a good way to start...I think a trip to the grocery store is in order :P
I would rather DD have the full sugar version, the sugar substitute is't good for babies.
But, Jello has ZERO nutritional value, so you're best off avoiding it all together.
Don't you think, though, that as long as it's a small amount it might be a good way to practice eating something other than purees? I am not quite ready to try bananas, puffs, or anything like that, but I would be curious to see how DS did with Jello. It might make me more brave to try other things soon.
I do want to be clear I didn't give him more than 10 bitty bitty bites. It was as a treat not as nutrition. He eats his fruits, veggies and cereal for that.
You would be surprised how fast puffs dissolve, and the Target brand ones are smaller than Gerber. Also have you tried the Baby MUMMUM rice crackers, they dissolve instantly and they love to hold them and eat. I found them at Walmart

The sugar substitute is no more harmful to babies than it is to the rest of us. <BAER> Are you saying you've never fed LO ANYTHING that isn't 100% organic, and ecofriendly? Get real!!
Jello is fun, a good treat, and YES I think it would be good practice for LO and for Mom re: more table foods.
