Size 3 diapers

We use Pampers Swaddlers and size 3 says it is for 16-28 lb.  That seems like a really big range.  Just curious how long your babies stayed in size 3?  I've been stocking up like crazy because of the Amazon deal but don't want to buy way too many.  My girls were 13 lbs 5 oz & 15 lbs 8 oz at their 4 month appointment and are about 4 1/2 months old now.  Thanks!

My boys moved to size 4 well before they hit 28 lbs. We moved up to 4s at 8m, at which point Alex was about 21.5 and Will was 19.5 lbs. They were leaking out of the 3s at that point. (And now, 11 months later, they are still in size 4s!)

We're Target diaper people, but I can't imagine things being too different from Pampers.  I honestly can't remember DDs being in 3 for too long, but maybe for a few months.  They have been in 4s forever--easily since before they were 1 and they way about 22lbs and 26lbs now.  If I didn't have two in similar size diapers, I probably would think about moving my larger DD up to 5s (I did two different sizes for a while and it was just a pain).

2 of my boys moved to size 4 @ 21 lbs but my 3rd boy is 21 lbs and fitting great into the size 3.  I think it all depends on the body shape.

I just moved to size 4 and my DD is 19 lbs and my DS is 23.
