Nauseous when lying down?

I never felt sick at all with either of my boys.  Now I notice when I am lying in bed I will get these "waves" (best as I can describe them) of sickness that come and go.  I very rarely feel them when I am up and moving around.  Anyone else?

Re: Nauseous when lying down?

  • Try laying on your side. That usually helps me.

  • Try propping your head up a little higher. I use three pillows now. It has significantly helped my acid reflux heartburn-like symptoms when I'm laying down.

Hope this helps. Good luck :)

  • I'm the opposite - sitting or especially standing up makes me have the waves, lying down is the only way to "stop" it.

  • Yea, I couldn't lay down for a few weeks - I would prop myself up until I was practically sleeping and then lay down flat.

  • Laying on your back can cause the sickness to feel worse.  PP suggestions are great and my pregnancy book says that the best side to lay on is your left side because it allows for better blood flow.  I find my left side is more comfy.

Edit to add:  OP very cute family photo!
