NT scan ?

My next appointment is a NT scan.  I will only be 10w3d when it is scheduled.  Is that too early?  What I have read is that they usually do them between 11 and 13 weeks...mainly during 12th week.

My Dr. office is closed until Monday, so I will call then to reconfirm.  They made the appt. so I gues it's ok.

Just wanted to see what you girls think.

I thought it had to be between 11 and 13 weeks, so I'd ask them to make sure.  Ours wanted to schedule right around 12 weeks, for some reason.

It's my understanding that you are in your 11th week at 10 weeks, 3 days. That means you've completed 10 weeks and are 3 days into your 11th week. Does that make sense?

Yes, that totally makes sense. I will be finished with week 10 and into 11th week...so I should be right on schedule.

I'll call on Monday to confirm...but I think you are correct.

I would call to confirm just to be sure.  My doc said they have to be done by 13w6d so they schedule it for 12w just in case the baby isn't in the right position so they have time to bring you back.  10w3d seems awfully early, even if you do go by the "in the 11th week" thing.  But, each doctor seems a little different.

I would call them and double check. I somehow got scheduled at 11 weeks and I had to go back and do it again at 12wks because the membrane they measure was coming up too short. So needless to say I was a worried mess for a week until I could come back. Plus, when I went at 16 weeks to do the second set of BW that goes with the NT..it caused a whole big confusion because they were looking at my original scan (11wks) and not the 12 wk one I did again and telling me that I had to come back because I was not as pregnant as I thought I was. Soooo after raising hell and finally speaking to my doctor and the u/s tech everything was straightened out but I would double check if I were you to avoid a mess like that.

hmmm..odd?I did mine @ 12 weeks ( see photo in my signature) and like everyone else said...though you needed to be at least 11 or 12 wks along so they could get proper measurements...

I had my first one at 11w1d and the baby was just a tiny bit too small to get an accurate measurement (and I was measuring right on track for 11 wks). They rescheduled me for part way thru my 12th week and were able to get the measurements they needed.

Call your dr. and see if there is some confusion about the dates.

Call your doc and they'll reschedule. They usually try to do them between 11weeks 3 days and 13 weeks 6 days to ensure that the baby is the right size and they can get accurate measurements. The u/s center that did mine with my pregnancy with DS and is doing it with this pregnancy won't even schedule women before 11 weeks 6 days out of preference for being slightly stricter on the dating.
