what are you taking for allergies?

I am about to claw my eyes out sitting here at work. I need something for allergies. I woke this morning really stuffy and itchy eyes.

My doctor told me Claritin was okay for allergies and sinus issues.  I take it when I really need it.  It seems to help!  Also, my netti pot has been a savior for the congestion and stuffiness.  I use it before I go to bed and my husband has said it cuts down on the snoring.

I hope you get some relief soon!

Both my OB and my MFM have sa-d zyrtec was ok to take. Although it doesn't give me 24hr relief like it claims. :-(

With DD and DS, I took Claritin.  Now I take Zyrtec because Claritin doesn't work.

 

When I'm not pregnant, I take a nasal steroid spray, but that increases the premature rupture of membranes rates, so I'm not to take it until much later.    I'm hoping it freezes first, to be honest, because I can't hold out for another 8 weeks to get some relief.

I also do the neti pot twice daily - once in th emorning, once at night, and wash my hair twice a day to get the allergens out (or wear it up so it doesn't get full of pollens).  It's ridiculous, to be honest.  I'm SOOOOOO miserable.

Another Zyrtec recommendation, here.  My very conservative/anti-med MWs ok'd it, and it helps.  Like pp said, it doesn't last quite 24 hours for me, but it does offer some relieve.  Claritin makes me have crazy jitters and racing-heart episodes, so that was out.  Just be sure you're taking regular Zyrtec and not the one with the decongestant.  I also whole-heartedly recommend the neti pot.
