I posted earlier about trying to prepare myself for a miscarriage. One of my worries is having a missed miscarriage and having false hope that everything is okay. What I've read says that a sign of a missed miscarriage is symptoms stopping. I realized before that I haven't felt as tired as I have been, but I know symptoms come and go. I also know that I've continued to have some other symptoms. Of course, when you read too much into anything, you can convince yourself of just about anything!
Re: If you had a missed miscarriage, did your pregnancy symptoms stop?
I had a missed miscarriage and some of my symptoms did stop. I was extremely exhausted during week 6 and 7. I also had started getting bloated at the end of the day. During week 8 - 10 weeks this symptoms disappeared which I chalked up to being further along. I had never been pregnant before, so I didn't really know if this was normal or not. At 10 weeks 5 days we found out we had a miscarriage 2 weeks prior.
I am not sure of your situation, however, if you have concerns you should speak to your doctor. Good luck and I hope this is not the case for you.
Although I am wishing you all the best, my experience was not good when it came to symptoms going away. I was nauseous all day every day weeks 5 to 7. I was very tired as well, but nausea was the worst. One day I woke up and was much less nauseaus, the next I was pretty much back to normal. I was worried, I posted about it on the boards here and was of course told I was being silly and I should have just been happy to feel better. I even called my doc who said the same thing. A week later we found out the baby was gone. So for me, I am sure the pregnancy ended when the nausea ended.
This is going to be the worst part of the next pregnancy. fearing the morning I wake up and feel fine. Now I know eventually we start to feel better around the 2nd tri, but gosh I pray to feel like crap for about 15 weeks!
Again, I'm so sorry for your loss and I hope you experience a miracle rather than a miscarriage
Keeping in mind that you're likely to only hear the *bad* stories on this Board (that's why we're here).
My main symptoms were breast tenderness and total exhaustion. Both of those things descreased dramatically and then disappeared the week my m/c was identified. That was what earned me my 1st and 2nd u/s - when I pushed my Dr. I said "I just don't feel pregnant anymore" and she said "come in and let me check you out."
To be fair, I had a couple friends who "lost" their symptoms during early pregnancy and they went on to (a) develop different symptoms a bit later and (b) have otherwise normal pregnanices. So don't assume the worst from this one thing alone.
BFP #1 5/2010 - Missed m/c at 8 weeks

Baby G welcomed with love and relief 10/2011
Surprise BFP 1/8/2013...say what? Baby A arrived 9/2013
Motherhood is not for wimps
Some of my symptoms stayed, but some didn't. I still had nausea and I was still really bloated. I had that whole, "OMG I'm starving! Feed me NOW!" feeling and then I would take 2 bites and feel like throwing up.
But the spotting and intense lower back pain were new symptoms that led me to believe I was m/c.
My baby stopped growing at 6 weeks. I had symptoms the entire time. My breasts grew and stayed bigger (they still are and my D&C was 7/2), I was still tired, hungry and nauseous. I actually had the worst morning sickness after I knew the baby was gone.
For me the embryo had stopped developing, but the gestational sac did not, so I guess it was still producing hormones. My body did not ever recognize the pregnancy had ended.
I hope you have a better outcome that I did.
nothing out of the ordinary. I started to not be as bloated, and the m/s was getting better...but I was also in the 2nd tri and that's normal.
The only thing, looking back, is that a couple of my food aversions were gone....but those can come and go too.
I was pregnant with twins and had symptoms full force until (and even after for a few days) the d&c. I never would have known I had a miscarriage until the ultrasound showed no heartbeats.
I am sorry you are going through this. It is not something anyone should have to experience.
For me, all my pregnancy symptoms still remained until my D&C was done. As a matter of fact, my morning sickness was getting even stronger. I did have some increased lower abdomen and stomach pain, but according to my pregnancy book, it could also just be the uterus growing.
My symtoms actually got their strongest right before everything was confirmed. Even now after my d&c my boobs are still super sore. But for the few weeks before I had slight morning sickness and sore boobs very badly. My Dr. said that especially with mmc your body really thinks you are pregnant and many of the hormones are still there. Very frustrating.
I hope you do not experience a loss and that everything will be ok for you!
Yes. I noticed that for about two weeks my food aversions decreased, my boobs weren't as sore, and I wasn't near as tired (I'd been needing a nap every afternoon). It was so noticeable a difference that I started googling it. Everything I found pointed to mmc. I told my DH, and told my midwife at our first appt. I was supposed to be a little over 10 weeks, and that day we found out I'd only made it to about 8 weeks.
So apparently I started noticing around the time the m/c began.
No my symptoms did not go away. With my first missed miscarriage the only reason I found out was b/c I went in for my regular check-up and they discovered the baby had stopped growing. I waited over a month to miscarry naturally and it never happened. About two weeks after that ultrasound I had one tiny bit of brown blood. And then nothing again for weeks. I finally decided to try Cytotec (which did not work for me) and had a D&C the following day. Within about 2 days of the D&C all symptoms were gone.
For my second missed miscarriage I again did not lose my symptoms. After seeing healthy heartbeats at 6w4d and 7w6d I again noticed one spot of brown blood at 10w2d. The next day the brown spotting got worse and I called the doctor who confirmed another missed miscarriage. I'm now one day post D&C and my symptoms have just now faded.

You seemed to have generated a lot of response to this topic...I would say the best advice is to get to your doctor if you are worried about anything. That is what they are there for, no reason to stress out over something that could be answered with a quick heart beat check:)
I did have a MM, symptoms stayed for the most part but the icky morning feelings did go away a bit but I was 10.5 weeks, so I thought it was normal.
The next time around, if I feel at all different, I will be that patient to call the doc right away.
I hope everything works out for you.
