Thoughts on boys name.

 Nico Richard

My DH and I always liked the name Nicholas Richard....(My name is Nicole his name is Rich (Richard).)  Well, our 1 year old nephew's name is Nicholas, and we aren't into duplicating so we were thinking about this instead:  

I know it doesn't have the greatest flow but we like it.  Richard is also my FIL's name. We have an Italian last name.

I love Nicholas as well, but like I said, already taken.  I actually like Nico better than Nick for a nn though.

I know you said that. I guess my point was I would either use Nicholas (regardless of it also being your nephew's name) or pick a different name completely. JMO, of course.

Have you considered Nicolo? It's Italian and would go with your last name. You could always use Nico as a nn with it. IMO I would want a fuller sounding name as a fn, KWIM? Richard is my DH's name too, so I like it.

Thanks...I do like that, but our last name has some "L" sound in it that may be a little much all together.  The name you see is actually my maiden name

 

I also LOVE the name Giovanni.  This is another one we have been tossing around.  But with a different middle name.

What about Nicolai?  Personally I prefer Nicholas, but if you feel you can't use it, this might be a nice alternative.
