Nickname help.

Hi Ladies -

My husband REALLY wants to name our daughter Loretta.  It is a very special family name to him.  I am liking the name more and more, but trying to think of nicknames that she may go by if she wants it to be less formal.  So far, all I have come up with is Lori - which (sorry if anyone is named Lori) I'm not too crazy about.

 So... When you hear Loretta - What nicknames come to mind?  TIA!

I'm sure nicknames will come naturally.  It's not something that I would "plan."  I know a few Loretta's and they just go by Loretta.  It's a pretty name.

I think Etta is cute.

Loretta is so pretty, I wouldn't use a nickname.  But, Lottie and Etta come to mind for nicknames.  I don't like Lori at all.

As long as we are making up nn's, I also wanted to add Lor, Lore (pronounced the same as Lor), and Retta, although I'm not sure if I like any of these. Just more options for you to consider.

I think my favorite is Lora.

I knew a Loretta (great name) Her nn was Etty and sometimes Lor

I knew a Loretta Lynn, she didn't have a nn per say but I did hear some call her Ret like Rhet, so you could spell it Lorhetta and do that. Also maybe Lorelynn?
