DH and I have discussed it.  We feel it is very expensive, so as of know, I do not think we will do it.

QOTD: We haven't discussed it, only b/c I have researched things on my own and don't feel we can afford it. I doubt we will end up doing it. I hope that I don't regret the decision, but financially, it isn't feasible.

I wish we could do it.  I work in the bone marrow/peripheral blood transplant field, so I would love to, but it is very expensive.  We will, however, donate.  A lot of the patients I see are recipients of unrelated cord blood donors - and if we can help save someone's life, I would really like to be able to do that.  My work has given me all the info for donating though, because I couldn't find a straight answer on my own.

We're not doing it.  It's very expensive and there is no guarantee that we would even be able to use it if we needed it.  The impression we got from a few doctors is that it's a waste of money.  I would consider donating it, though.

We haven't discussed it yet but as for my research we probably will not be doing it because of the cost.

We haven't really talked about it this time around. Last time, we decided it was too expensive. We might donate it, but we're not sure.

QOTD:  We've talked about it a little.  We would like to do it but as it seems for many others the expense of it is the biggist factor.  So if we don't bank the cord blood I at lest want to donate it.

I would love to do it but most of my paycheck is going to day care with little left over.  H is in construction so work is spotty at times.  I have to work because the insurance through my job is great and insurance through H depends on how much he works.

DH and I are not going to do it.  However, our hospital has a program where you can donate cord blood.  They set up having someone there to collect it, so we are probably going to do that instead.

I have always been pretty interested in doing it.  We've talked about it, and at the end of the day, I decided to leave it up to DH.  He thinks its a good idea, and was actually more adamant about it than I would have expected.  Hopefully we will never have to use it, but at least it will have given us the peace of mind.  We have started the process of registering, and so far, its pretty smooth and easy.

No, we won't bank it.  I'll check and see if our hospital is a donating hospital.  DS's was not, so I didn't even have the chance to donate it.  If donating is an option, we'll likely do that.

 We're not paying to keep the cord blood but we are going to donate it.  It's free to donate it and will go to someone who needs it.  Besides, they recommend that you don't use your child's own cord blood if there is something wrong because it will have the same abnormalities that your child is experiencing.  However, it is beneficial if a relative is sick.  But since they don't know how long the cord blood stays good for, I'd rather donate it to someone who could use it now.  If everyone donated then there would be plenty available for anyone who needed it.

It is crazy expensive, in my opinion.  But, I know you can donate your cord blood, so we did look into that.  It was not an option in our area though (small town).

I'm actually not too familiar with it and why it's helpful. I've seen tons of commercials, adds, and handouts, but I honestly haven'y really sat down with any of the material to learn more. I've been meaning to though.

We will not bank the blood due to cost, but I will donate it.  We did it with DD and I would love to do it again.  Donating is free and easy, plus I like to think her blood saved a life
