I have a sex question

This is more directed at those of you that get it on like rabbits. If you're able to have sex several times a week, are they usually quickies? Or more like all the romance, too?

I started thinking last night that DH might get more if he were not expecting romance and fireworks every night. I'd have a quickie anytime of the day, but he needs the whole romance package.

Mainly quickies during the week--it's just trying to sneak away for a few minutes, because usually at least 2 of the kids are awake. When DH didn't work nights, we generally had longer sex because we had time. On the weekends, I can't say it's really romantic--but passionate. Of course, that's when we have the ability to be intoxicated

I wouldn't use the term romance...more like dude likes to get all creative and drag it out sometimes, and I am just not into extended action sequences...

I like a moderate amount of everything and a timely finish. we don't have to run through all of the possibilities in each session.

I would gladly do it multiple times daily if there were no fear of an ambitious marathon...alas...

I have to sometimes spell it out: let's do it real fast and then eat ice cream (or while waiting for take out to be delivered- those chinese delivery guys are fast, so he's gotta be, too!

also, I feel obligated to disclose that while we're on it all the time, now- we went nearly a year without doing it for various reasons...not getting along that great, post partum/ pregnancy...lexapro...

I don't think we have ever had an actual quickie. Every time we have sex it's 45 minutes to an hour minimum.  If I am tired, or need to get up earlier than normal I just need to tell him no or vice versa.

it varies. sometimes it is two long sessions in a week. Sometimes it's a week of quickies.

what's...romance? if romance means "foreplay", haha, then the amount of romancing varies as well.

HA!  Actually, normally 3-4 times a week.  Neither of us sleep all that many hours.  We are normally awake until at least midnight.  I guess that's why Madelyn is a night owl.

I guess romance is foreplay, but I think there is more to it. Foreplay is good, but it just seems like he needs a hour long session when there are a ton of things that need to be done. Plus, after an hour I'm not into doing the other stuff I needed to do.

wow! 3-4 times a week at 45 minutes...my poor DH is missing out.

I am also usually up until about that or later but DH doesn't get home until midnight and I don't want to do anything but sleep at that point, I get up for work at 6am.

DH would be thrilled to be getting that kind of attention.  We're on two different work schedules and only see each other Saturday and Sunday. And it's not like it's happening all that often then either. 

Damn... I need to step up my game!

I get what you are saying, ek. For me, during the week, I would much prefer things to be done and over with fairly quickly. I am far too tired for some long session when I have to get up before 6 am. DH rarely understands this.

IF dh worked a different shift, this would not happen!  I am exhausted by 10 the one night a week he goes out and I have to do everything alone for both kids.  But normally we share the work load, and don't even sit down to relax before 9-9:30.  It's pretty normal for us to be up until 1 am, even though we get up at 5:45. Fortunately, dd is a late sleeper so we get to catch up on our sleep on the weekends.
