Beware the Wendy's Salad!

Gotta little story for ya about Wendy's salads... 

So today I drove-through Wendy's for lunch and ordered one of their new Apple Pecan Chicken Salads.

I get back to my office and cut into the chicken and realized that it is completely RAW on the inside!! It looked like it had been seared on the outside but not cooked through even a little bit. It was still mushy and pink like raw chicken is.

So I drive allllllllllll the way back to the Wendy's and show them my salad and all they say is "Oh sorry. So do you like want a refund or a replacement salad or something?" And then I hear one of the chicks towards the back say "Well we're super busy today so..."

WTF. You serve me RAW chicken and all I get is a "sorry" and a refund???

I was so mad but I just took my refund and left. However now that I'm finally back at work I've already submitted an online complaint.

Grrrr! I've worked in customer service long enough to know that when you fvck up that badly you need to go above and beyond to make it right.

So ladies the moral of this story is to check your chicken for doneness before devouring.

Yuck. That sucks. I have been wanting to try that salad too. I will make sure to check the chicken first

Oh gross. Raw chicken terrifies me...I am obsessive about handwashing whenever I handle it. That would be enough to keep me from going back to that Wendy's.

GROSS! Every time I eat a chicken sandwich from anywhere I always think of that Urban Legend about the "pocket of pus". I think it was a Wendy's chicken sandwich in that story, supposedly!

I had that happen at McDonalds once! The manager called the next day to offer me coupons. Of course, I didn't really plan to go back to that McDonalds after being served raw food.

That happened to me at Chick-Fil-A once. Took a big bite out of my grilled chicken sandwich only to find out it was raw. I was sick for days. I didn't eat at CFA for over 5 years--couldn't even stand the smell. Thankfully I have gotten over it now.

Gross!!!! I'm surprised they even cook their chicken, I figured it all just came pre-cooked in a bag then they throw in the microwave before they serve it. Although I guess the headquarters could have undercooked it. Who knows but that is so nasty.

Ewwwwwww. I actually got a grilled chicken sandwich from Wendy's a few years back that was raw inside. I was too far away to take it back by that time, but suffice it to say I've never eaten one from there again.

This has happened to me TWICE at Wendy's!!!! I now refuse to eat their chicken. I don't care if you're busy...cook my food or I'll sue you

Raw chicken terrifies me! Like a pp said, I wash my hands like crazy whenever I touch it!

I think Wendy's is horrible with customer service. I've had several issues with them before and they always argue, instead of helping solve it!

First of all, thank goodness you examined your food before you took a big bite of raw chicken.  Eww.  Good for you for actually taking it back and letting them know.  I wish they had actually listened and made it right, but I hope you hear something from someone about the online complaint.

Thankfully I do not have a raw chicken story. , but I did register an online complaint with a local McDonald's after many, many bad experiences with their restaurant, bad customer service and paying for food that wasn't received at the drive-thru.  Complaints directly to the restaurant got us no where, but the actual franchise owner responded with a letter and coupons for free items.  We still tend to avoid that particular store, but the gesture was appreciated.

Ewwww! Sorry that happened to you! I've had that happen before with chicken strips at McDonald's. I ate half of it before I realized it wasn't cooked all the way! NASTY.

They are the mother of lunch ruiners I think. MH used to go on his munch break. He had enough time to go through the drive thru, get back to work and eat it before lunch was over. He orders a chicken plain sandwich, just chicken and bread. They aways mess his order up and put what he calls "slop" on it. He is a picky eater so he won't eat it, but he goes back with the receipt and sloppy sandwich after work to get what he paid for. He started checking before leaving the line to make sure it was right even though he hates making people behind him wait. The last time he was there they got it wrong, gave him another, and when he got to work the 2nd one was wrong. He went after work again and when he got home it was wrong a 3rd time. He drove back and gave them the 3rd sandwich without asking for a refund and has never gone back.

Lol I thought this post was going to be about how many calories are in them! I got on the other day (with no dressing) and went home to look up how many calories it was and it was well over 500. For lettuce, nuts, a little bit of cheese, cranberries and mandarin orange slices? It was good but not that good lol.
