I was just reading an article about the approval of a new morning-after pill that they've unfortunately decided to market under the name "ella."
(In passing, seriously -- what's with the drug companies giving their drugs people names? Yasmin, Allegra -- on our list for a while until my husband pointed this out...)
Wonder if the popularity of the name Ella will decrease once this drug hits the market?

Unfortunately it will probably increase in popularity. Braveangel makes a good point that the demographics may change of those whose choose this name.
I always liked the name since I am a fan of Ella Fitzgerald but I would never use it.
