newport with kids

this up coming weekend dh and i wanted to go to newport for a full day saturday. we have 2 toddler girls and although I have been to newport many of times for shopping, lunch and drinks..I wanted to know if anyone had some advice on some more kid friendly activities. I should mention that dh has never been, so i want him to see the area as well-- any advice/tips on where to go/what do see and how to make sure everyone is happy?
