Awful Taste in Mouth- Getting Sick?

Yesterday morning I woke up with this horrible, horrible taste in my mouth (esp towards the back of my tongue. And yes I brush my teeth regularly.) No matter what I eat or drink, it tastes SO bad. I also feel like I am having cold or flu symptoms (congestion, extreme fatigue and some body aches, cough). Can this awful taste be from me coming down with something? Its so gross I seriously can not eat. Any thoughts?

i get that every morning after i eat breakfast.  (and i brush too!)  i just attribute it to being a weird pregnancy symptom since it never happened to me before.

Yeah, a 'weird taste' is in a lot of symptom lists I've seen.  A lot of the time it's metallic and attributed to our greatly increased blood volume... nosebleeds are also common for the same reason.  Congestion is also a 2nd tri symptom (and congestion often causes coughing), as is fatigue and achiness.

I wouldn't say you're absolutely not sick, but I'm pretty sure that many cold symptoms are similar to a lot of pregnancy symptoms.

Since you've been on antibiotics, you could have oral thrush (a yeast infection in your mouth/throat).  If it continues, gets worse, or you get a bad sore throat, I would go see your doctor.  Until then, try some probiotics, natural yogurt and gargle with warm salt water.  Good luck, hope it clears up!
