Come in if you have a Fisher Price cradle swing please

I'm interested in buying either the Rainforest Cradle or the Papasan Cradle swings, but they've both received some pretty bad reviews on Amazon and BRU websites, including potential fire hazard because people have smelled burnt plastic around the motor or something to that effect.  Naturally this gives me pause but I'm regretful as I was looking very much to having a swing replace my rocking arms to put DD to sleep.

Have you had any issues with your swing?  How long have you had yours? Which one do you have?

  • We have the Fisher Price Nature's Touch Cradle Swing; I bought it second-hand and DS loves it.  We haven't had any issues with it.

  • I have the ocean wonders cradle swing and I have not experienced any of those problems, and I have to say that getting mine was a godsend. My daughter goes to sleep nearly every time I put her in it.
  • I have the Precious Planet cradle swing (bought 2nd hand) and it was the best thing we purchased - we haven't had any problems and it is wonderful when you need to put LO down for a little bit to get things done around the house!

  • We have this one and we haven't had any problems with it.  And LO absolutely loves it.  He'll sit in it for hours, and sleeps in it when nothing else works to help him sleep.

  • We have both the FisherPrice Aquarium and the FishPrice Lamb whatever one.

While I do have many complaints about the swings, safety is definitely not one of them. I haven't smelled anything burning or had anything break etc.

  • I have the little lamb one.. my only complaint is that the slowest setting is even too fast for a newborn.. he looks like he's going to fling right out of it. We have to try and weigh it down with a big blanket or just push it ourselves. But Lucas loves it.

  • We don't have either of those models. We have the FP Ocean Wonders Cradle 'n Swing. We haven't had any issues. We have been using the swing since we brought our DS home at the end of June.
  • We have the Fisher Price Lamb swing and LOVE it. Our baby has reflux and it's the only thing he'll sleep in because it keeps him from being flat on his back. Half the time, we don't even turn the swing on, but he loves the mirror and the sound effects.

One complaint; I agree with PP. The lowest setting was too fast for a newborn. Our baby didn't take to the swing until he was about 3 weeks old. By then he weighed enough that it slowed things down a bit!

  • We have the Nature's Touch cradle swing. We used it with DD1, and my best friend just finished using it with her DS. DD2 currently takes at least one of her naps in it. We've never had any problems.

  • We have the Little Lamb swing and LO is spoiled rotten and his held a ton and this is one of the only things that keeps him content as much as being held.

The only complaint I have is the seat leans to the left a bit so the right leg tips up off the floor just a tad, nothing major. DH looked and it and can't figure out how to make it stay in one place.

Even if I would've known the swing leaned a bit, I still would've got this swing. It's a life saver.
