I'm wondering about this topic now that I am starting to need some new bras. TIA!

Did you buy any maternity bras?

Did you go to a speciality store?

Did you just buy a regular bra but a few sizes up?

How many did/do you get/have?

Is there a brand you'd recommend?

Is it worth spending lots on a good one or not?

Any other suggestions/recommendations/comments?

I just bought cheap regular bras in a bigger size. I changed sizes a couple times, & didn't want to spend the money on nice bras. I also bought some bra strap extenders to give me an extra clasp to hook onto when my band size changed, & they worked great!

I bought some and hardly ever wore them.  I LIVED in the Target nursing tanks.

Is it worth spending lots on a good one or not? Yes and no - the Target and Motherhood Maternity ones that I have kinda suck, but your boobs will change sizes throughout your time nursing both because of supply and because of post pregnancy weight loss.

Any other suggestions/recommendations/comments? Buy 1-2 cheap ones a size or two up for in the beginning and then 2 months into nursing spending more money some better quality if you plan on long term nursing once your supply has regulated.

Did you just buy a regular bra but a few sizes up? Yes, I just bought the VS wireless bras one cup size up.

How many did/do you get/have? I bought 3 total and they were plenty.

Is there a brand you'd recommend? I went with this VS bra on the rec of Cristina.  I would have never thought to buy a wireless bra if it wasn't for her and I'd always been a VS girl so it was perfect.

Is it worth spending lots on a good one or not? I thought it was, but that's just me.  They are so comfortable.

Any other suggestions/recommendations/comments? Nope!

Yes and no, I got a Target one at the end of pregnancyand used it for a little bit but it sucked, I have one from Motherhood that is middle of the road, and 3 from Bravado that are great. The ones from Bravado I love because they are not underwire and they stretch with you when you get engorged.

Any other suggestions/recommendations/comments? Buy 1-2 cheap ones a size or two up for in the beginning and then 2 months into nursing spending more money some better quality if you plan on long term nursing once your supply has regulated. Agree with this, also get some sleep ones that are soft and stretchy for the beginning. These could be your cheap ones until your supply regulates.  

ETA : I read this as nursing bras! So that is what I'm referring to. Instead of getting maternity bras, I got nursing ones, but those don't fit now.

Also bravados website and breakout bras have good sizing info, and breakout bras is having a sale right now. Look for their grab bags and request it to have nursing bras.

No because everyone told me that a lot of them are cheaply made and just to go to the appropriate size.

Went to Fredericks (since I was out in Vegas in my first trimester after things had expanded up top) and loved it.  Got good bras (3-4) for $15 or so a piece.  I like that place better than VS because at least I'm not paying $40 for a bra that falls apart in a year.  Maybe I just have bad luck.

Yes,  First I went up two cup sizes.  Then in second trimester I went up a band size when my rib cage expanded.  Oddly enough I went from a 36D to a 38C when that happened so try on other sizes if you need to get new bras.  I feel like I need to buy more bras now because I have an assortment of stuff that's a bit big on me but I'm not willing to spend the money when I know I'll want during bras in a month.

How many did/do you get/have?

3-4 initially after the first expansion.  2nd expansion I went to Kohls during one of their sales and got 2 more (that didn't fit right because I guessed wrong on the sizes even though I did try them on, I was tired that night), and bought 3 more from Fredericks.  Finally I bought 2 at Kmart (hanes) that were the "correct" size once the rib cage expanded (on the others they just have cups that are a size too big).

No because you're not in it long enough to make it worth it.  You don't know how long you're going to be in X size while you're pregnant.  I think for the nursing bras I'm going to buy 2-3 cheap ones and then maybe buy a nicer 2 or so once things are established.

Any other suggestions/recommendations/comments?  I don't know if you're talking about nursing bras, but as far as they go, I bought a bunch from Target.  They're very ehh...  Crappy quality, but they do the job.  They also don't come in my size (34 DD), or if they do, I never find them.  I bought 1 bravado and it was pretty good, but didn't wash well.  Also, I ordered Visctoria's Secret nursing bra w/o the underwire (they only have 2 types, but at least they have them!) and I like it, but it's not quite my size either - they don't carry a 34 DD... and I refuse to buy a 36 DD because it's just too big around the back even though it fits my newly ginormous teytas.  So, if you have a difficult size to fit, like me, I suggest getting some nice nursing tanks - the ones I got from target I hate, they're tight on my boobs and baggy on my belly (not complaining about that).
