Canon PowerShot SX120 IS

My old Canon Powershot died so I just bought this new one.  The Best Buy rep recommended it.  It's 10 Mega Pixels.  I am not happy with the pictures I took.  Most of them came out blurry.  Can anyone recommend a good Powershot?  I am going today to exchange it.

  • I don't have any problems with blurry photos. What setting are you using?
  • mine come out great..what do you shoot on?
  • Loading the player...
  • I am using Auto ... but I also tried the other settings too.  I was trying to get a pic of kids.  I am annoyed because the girl in Best Buy said this was the best camera to get for kids that are on the go.  Maybe the store can show me what I am doing wrong.  Even the pics I took of people standing still don't look all that clear.  I thought going from a 7 MP to 10 Mega Pix would be a noticeable difference.
  • Are you pushing the button down half way to focus first? You need to push it down half way until it beeps, if it's focused correctly, push the button all the way down.

Also, are you using your flash if you are inside?

Are most of your pics inside? If they are, it has an indoor setting.

  • I ended up exchanging it for the Canon Powershot SD1400.

Not sure about the first camera you mentioned.  I actually just bought a canon sd1300 to keep in my purse.  I originally bought the sd1400 but returned it because of its poor image quality.  If you look at reviews on the sd1400 you will find that poor image quality is a common concern.  Check out www.dpreview.com     The IQ of the sd1300 is much better and the camra is a little bit cheaper.
