Getting a hang of the lingo...

I'm starting to catch on to everything but the whole "CD" thing is still thowing me off... a lot of ladies have a CD counter... now its a cycle day correct? As in your period? And... from there I have no idea how it gets to like CD 15 or whatever. So confused!
